WHO CAN JOIN

Who Can Become a Member

Legacy CBO membership is open to individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Kenyan citizens (male or female) of sound mind

  • Residents of Embakasi, Njiru, or Kasarani sub-counties

  • Individuals committed to community participation and shared responsibility

Membership is built on trust, participation, and mutual respect, ensuring that all members contribute positively to the organization’s goals.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS & PROCESS

Membership Requirements

To join Legacy CBO, prospective members are required to:

  • Pay a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of KES 500

  • Make regular contributions as outlined in the organization’s constitution

  • Uphold the values and objectives of the organization

How Membership Admission Works

  • New members are nominated by existing members

  • Admission is approved by the group

  • New members align their contributions with current members during the initial build-up period

This process ensures fairness, transparency, and shared commitment among all members.

Member Responsibilities

Members are expected to:

  • Contribute as required

  • Observe discipline and accountability guidelines

  • Support the organization’s mission and activities

WITHDRAWAL & DISCIPLINE

Membership Withdrawal

Members wishing to withdraw must:

  • Submit a written notice to the Secretary

  • Provide three months’ notice

Upon approval, savings are refunded less a 10% administrative fee, in line with the constitution.

Discipline & Conduct

To maintain fairness and order, the organization applies disciplinary measures for issues such as late attendance, absence, or delayed contributions. These measures promote accountability and respect among members.
